Advocacy Campaigns: Gender Justice

The Church of Ireland can join with the voices of agencies and communities all over Ireland and all over the world campaigning to end the silence surrounding Gender Based Violence in the 16 days of Activism each November. Resources and ideas for raising awareness are at hand from several organisations including Women’s Aid and ActionAid.

Mothers’ Union Ireland has held vigils and events and parishes can become involved too. This breaks the stigma and highlights the reality of Domestic Violence as it affects people in the pews (1 in 5 women in Ireland are affected) and as it affects women throughout the globe (1 in 3 women are affected globally.)
